Bio / Bibliography:

Tracey Slaughter was born in 1972. She studied at Auckland University & in 2002 completed “Her Face Looking Back At Me,” a PhD thesis on NZ women’s autobiography. She lives on the Coromandel Peninsula with her partner & two sons.

Tracey has had poetry published in JAAM, Takahe, Trout, PNZ, various NZ Poetry Society anthologies, Women’s Studies Journal, and in FIRE (UK). She was the featured poet in Poetry NZ 25 (September 2002). She has twice won the BNZ Katherine Mansfield Award - in 2001, “Her First” (published in Landfall 205) won the Novice Writer’s Section, and in 2004 "Wheat" was the overall winner.
