Bio / Bibliography:

Chris Price (b.1962) lives in Wellington. She has masters degrees in English and German from the University of Auckland and in creative writing from Victoria University of Wellington. She has worked as an in-house editor in trade publishing, and from 1993 to 2000 she edited Landfall, New Zealand’s longest-running literary magazine. Since 1992 she has also co-ordinated the popular and successful New Zealand Post Writers and Readers Week, part of the New Zealand Festival. She teaches a course on Creative Writing in the Marketplace at the International Institute of Modern Letters, Victoria University, and is on the board of the New Zealand Book Council. Her first book, Husk, appeared in 2002, and won the NZSA Jessie Mackay Best First Book Award for Poetry in the Montana New Zealand Book Awards that year. She may occasionally be seen playing percussion in an acoustic instrumental quartet, Waiting for Donald, which released a self-titled CD in 2001.
